What happens if I forget to renew before my plan ends?

Going home for the winter break and not sure I'll renew on time.

When your plan ends, your number is suspended for 7 days. Renew or switch plans in those 7 days and you keep it.
After that it's permanently disconnected and can't be recovered, so set a reminder (or leave auto-renew on in My SIM).
